Shane Herrmann is in his fourth year as assistant sports information director at UNA. His primary duties include promoting the Lions volleyball and softball programs and assisting with football, baseball, tennis and men's and women's basketball.

A 1999 UNA graduate, Herrmann previously worked in the UNA sports information office as a student and, following his graduation, served as sports editor of the Journal Record in Hamilton, Ala., for three years.

In 2003-04, the Bessemer, Ala., native worked in the sports information office at Jacksonville State University.

Since coming to UNA, Herrmann has worked statistics and media relations at several Alabama High School Athletic Association events, including the state baseball and football championships from 2003-06. He has also been the official scorer for the AHSAA All-Star volleyball, soccer and softball games from 2005-07.

He and his wife Jennifer have a son, Kaleb, and a daughter, Kaitlin.
