HENDERSON, Tenn. -- North Alabama's pitching staff surrendered five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to blow a 7-6 lead and hand Freed-Hardeman a 10-7 come-from-behind win over the Lions.

UNA, now 2-2 overall, led 7-6 entering the last of the eighth but Brandon Foster walked two batters and hit another before Richard Brindle was brought on to try and stop the threat. Brindle then walked Riley Hendrix and gave up hits to Gregg Allen and Jarrett Jones and Freed-Hardeman rallied for the win.

UNA took a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Jarrett Shepherd singled and later scored on a Ross Parker groundout. The Lions added a run in the fourth as Daniel Johnson doubled, stole third and scored on a Nick Newberry sacrifice fly.

Freed-Hardeman got three runs in the fourth off UNA starter Jeff Schafer to take a 4-2 lead. North Alabama got a run back in the top of the fifth as Parker reached on an error and came in to score on an RBI groundout by Josh Phillips. Freed-Hardeman got a run back in the fifth to make it 5-3 but UNA took the lead back with three runs in the top of the sixth.

UNA combined two errors, two walks and three stolen bases to push three runs across.

Matt Horton singled in the seventh and scored on an error to give UNA an insurance run but it didn't hold up.
Foster (0-1) took the loss for UNA.

The Lions play at Delta State in a three-game series this weekend.
