HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama baseball team suffered a season- ending 4-3 loss at Alabama-Huntsville Sunday, with the defeat eliminating the Lions from a possible berth in the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

UNA, 32-21-1 overall, finished 7-11 in the GSC East Division for fifth place. The top four teams from each division advance to the GSC Tournament.

UNA jumped out to an early lead with a run in the second inning but UAH quickly answered with two runs of its own in the bottom of the second. Each team added two more runs but the Lions could never catch the Chargers.

Justin Walters took the loss for UNA in seven innings of work. He allowed four runs on seven hits with two strikeouts. UNA was held to just five hits on offense - with one hit each from five different players.

The 2007 season marks UNA's 24th consecutive winning season since Mike Lane became head coach in 1984.
