FLORENCE
-- The University of North Alabama combined
11 hits at the plate with a solid, four-hit
pitching performance to blast Bethel College
(Tenn.) 14-2 at University Field Monday.
The win pushes
UNA's overall record to 13-5, while Bethel
falls to 15-6.
Bethel got a
run off an error in the first inning but UNA
answered with four runs in the bottom of the
first. After the Wildcats got another
unearned run in the second, UNA added two
runs in the bottom of the inning, three in
the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the
sixth to stop the game after seven innings.
Qualon
Millender, Josh Graham, Daniel Johnson and
Jarret Shepherd led UNA with two hits each.
Graham drove in four runs and Shepherd
scored twice and drove in three more runs.
UNA starter
Jeff Schafer (3-2) pitched six innings to
get the win, allowing two unearned runs on
just four hits.
He walked one
batter and struckout five. Trey Mitchell
pitched a scoreless seventh.
Levi Scronce
(0-2) took the loss, allowing six runs on
three hits in three innings.
North Alabama
hosts the University of Alabama at
University Field on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
