-- Just one night after an extremely
disappointing home loss to Alabama, the
University of North Alabama baseball team
bounced back with a solid 15-1 pounding of
Christian Brothers at University Field.
The win gives
UNA a 14-6 record while CBU falls to 8-9.
Brennen
Auerbach, Justin Fleming and Trey Mitchell
combined on a six-hitter while the Lion
hitters pounded four CBU pitchers for 20
hits.
UNA scored five
runs in the first inning and added four in
the second, four in the fourth, one in the
fifth and one in the sixth. Christian
Brothers' only run came in the fifth inning.
Seven UNA
batters had two or more hits, led by Jeffery
Ritter who was four-for-five with two runs
scored and one run batted in. Cole Mitchell
was three-for-five with three RBI.
Auerbach (2-0)
got the win, pitching three innings alowing
no runs on three hits with three strikeouts.
Fleming pitched
the fourth and fifth innings and allowed one
run on three hits with four strikeouts.
itchell pitched the sixth and seventh and
retired all six batters that he faced.
North Alabama
opens Gulf South Conference play on Saturday
at home against West Georgia at 1 p.m. at
University Field.
