-- The University of North Alabama baseball
team managed just eight hits in a
double-header loss to Harding Tuesday, 2-0
and 4-3.
The sweep drops
UNA's record to 18-11 overall.
Harding got
just three hits in the opener but managed
two runs, while holding UNA to five hits and
no runs. Branden Tepe and Justin Fleming
combined on the three-hitter but Tepe took
the loss, allowing one run on no hits in
three innings.
Nick Newberry
led UNA offensively with two hits.
In the second
game, Harding scored three runs in the
bottom of the sixth inning to overcome a 3-1
deficit and record a 4-3 win. Trey Mitchell,
the third UNA pitcher in the game, took the
loss. UNA had just three hits in the game
and Kyle Jones, Caleb Kidd and Andrew Knerr
had one RBI each.
