FLORENCE
-- Senior first baseman Josh Graham drove in
six runs and scored twice in leading the
University of North Alabama to a 12-5 win
over Martin Methodist at Mike Lane Field.
Graham, from Pontotoc, Miss., had a home
run, a double and a single and drove in a
run on a groundout. He also missed a
grandslam homer in the eighth inning by
inches.
With the win,
UNA is now 24-17 overall, while Martin
Methodist falls to 24-19-1.
A three-run
homer by Graham in the first inning gave UNA
the lead for good and the Lions added two
runs in the second, six in the fifth and one
in the seventh.
Starter Justin
Walters, making his first appearance of the
season and suffering an injury in 2007,
allowed one run on three hits in two innings
of work. Trey Mitchell (3-4) pitched the
middle 6 2/3 innings and alowed four runs on
nine hits in getting his third win of the
season. He struckout four. Ryan Miller came
on and walked one batter before recording
the final out.
Trey Pollard,
Cole Mitchell and Qualon Millender had two
hits each for the Lions, to go with Graham's
three.
UNA out-hit the
Red Hawks 13-12.
UNA is now 14-0
all-time against Martin Methodist.

Lambuth on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mike Lane
Field.
