BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
-- Just three games into his
baseball career at the University of North
Alabama, Jeffrey Ritter is already making a
name for himself.
The junior
right fielder from South Rockwood, Mich.,
hit .750 in a three-game series against
Arkansas- Monticello and has earned Gulf
South Conference East Division Player of the
Week honors.
Ritter drove in
13 runs and collected nine hits against the
Boll Weevils. He tied a school record with
eight RBI in the middle game of the series
in which he went 4-for-5 with two home runs
and three runs scored. He hit .750
(9-for-12) over the weekend while slugging
an incredible 1.250. He scored six runs,
walked twice and stole three bases in three
attempts.
