SMITH GETS REGIONAL HONOR
ALLENDALE, Mich.
— University of North Alabama junior Daniel
Creel of Killen, Ala., has been named
first-team PING Division II All-America by
the Golf Coaches Association of America. A
total of nine players comprised the first
team,
Mitch Boles of
Central Oklahoma, Barry’s Hernan Borja, West
Florida’s Matthew Galloway, Andrew Georgiou
and Christian Riess of Columbus State,
Abilene Christian’s Hughes Joannes, Eric
Justesen of CSU-Stanislaus and Sonoma
State’s Jarin Todd also garnered PING
First-Team All-America honors.
Creel also
earned All-South Region honors, as did UNA
teammate Wes Smith. Smith is a sophomore
from Florence, Ala. All-Region teams
are selected by GCAA regional advisory
committees based on their season-long play.
Any player ranked in the top 50 nationally
according to the Golfstat individual rating
will be automatically added to his
All-Region Team.
