The University of North Alabama golf
team turned in rounds of 289 and 293
to post an impressive third place
finish at the Kiawah Island
Invitational.
UNA
finished just six strokes off the
576 pace of Oklahoma Christian and
three strokes behind Armstrong
Atlantic in the 16-team field that
included many of perennial NCAA
Division II powers.
David
Gies led UNA with a 144 total and
sixth place finish individually.
Matt Gourgeot and Wes Smith tied for
10th overall at 145. Gourgeot had
rounds of 71 and 74 and Smith shot
70 and 75. Brett Munson was 30th
(152) and Alex Hirai was 43rd (155).
