LIONS NINTH AFTER OPENING ROUND AT NCAA GOLF
CHAMPIONSHIPS
ALLENDALE, Mich.
-- A slow start Tuesday didn't
improve much as the day went on Tuesday as
the University of North Alabama golf team
slipped to ninth at the NCAA Division II
Golf Championships at The Meadows.
UNA finished
the first of its four rounds at the
championships with a 17-over-par round of
301 - 12 strokes off the pace set by Barry.
All five Lions had over-par rounds, with
Matt Gourgeot turning in the best round at
one-over 72. Wes Smith is tied for 24th at
74, while Daniel Creel shot 76, Brett Munson
79 and Jonathan Henderson 80.
