CUSCAWILLA, Ga.
-- Daniel Creel and Wes Smith turned in
final rounds of 71 to help lead the
University of North Alabama golf team to its
second win of the young golf season. The
Lions finished the three round event with an
855 total, finishing 25 strokes ahead of
South Carolina-Aiken - the three-time
defending Division II National Champions.
Florida Southern was 27 strokes back.
Creel took
medalist honors with a 204 total, nine
strokes ahead of Smith, who tied for second
at 213.
In a 15-school
field that included most of the perennial
Division II powers, UNA dominated from,
start to finish, turning in the lowest round
each day.
