VALDOSTA, Ga.
- Florida Southern shot a one-under 287 to
take an 11 stroke lead at the First Federal
Southeastern Collegiate at the par 72, 7209
yard Kinderlou Forest Golf Club Monday.
The Mocs
entered the second round of play three
strokes behind Valdosta State and tied for
second with two other teams, but were the
only team to shut 294 on the day to tally a
two-round total of 580 ( 4). Georgia College
is 11 strokes back with a 591 ( 15) while
Valdosta State and West Florida are tied for
third at 592 ( 16). Florida Tech rounded out
the top five with a two-round total of 598 (
22).
North Alabama
and Nova Southeastern tied for sixth with a
601 ( 25) followed by Lander (605/ 29),
Barry (607/31) and Lynn (609/ 33) to round
out the top 10.
West Georgia
and Lynn tied for 11th after two rounds with
a 621 ( 45) while Eckerd was 13th with a 624
( 48) and Coker 14th with a 627 ( 31). Delta
State tallied a two-round total of 630 ( 34)
for 15th while Tampa (636/40) was 16th and
Rollins (639/ 43) 17th.
Georgia
College's Niclas Johansson shot a one-under
71 on Monday to take a one-stroke lead on
the an individual basis, edging VSU's Brent
Witcher by a stroke. North Alabama's Daniel
Creel was two strokes behind Witcher with a
143 (-1) followed by Florida Southern's
Judson Eustaquio in fourth with an even par
144 and three players tied for fifth with a
146 ( 2).
The tournament
concludes with a single round of play
