KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.
-- The University of North Alabama
men's golf team turned in a second
round 294 but couldn't make up any
ground on the leaders as the Lions
finished fourth in their first
tournament appearance of the Fall at
the Kiawah Island Invitational.
Georgia College shot a sizzling
five-under-par 571 for the two-day
event, finishing seven strokes ahead
of USC Beaufort, 13 ahead of Belmont
Abbey and 16 ahead of UNA. Still it
was a strong showing for the Lions
as they defeated 11 other schools in
the 15-team event.
UNA sophomore Jake Greer had rounds
of 71 and 72 for a 143 total and a
fifth place finish overall. The
Lions next event is the Derrell
Foreman Invitational in Cleveland,
Miss., on October 2-3.
