Former University of North Alabama
golfer Stuart Clark has returned to
the program as the interim head
coach, following the retirement of
long-time coach Billy Gamble.
A former UNA All-American, Clark
helped place the UNA program at the
level of national prominence that it
currently enjoys.
As a player with the Lions, Clark
won the Gulf South Conference
individual championship in 1996 and
won five other collegiate
tournaments. He earned All-GSC
honors in 1996 and 1999, was
All-South Region in 1999 and was an
All-American selection as well as a
senior. He was the UNA golf team’s
MVP from 1996 to 1999.
Following his graduation from UNA
with a Bachelor of Business
Administration degree and Marketing
major in 1999, Clark played
professionally on the Tight Lies,
Developmental Players and Hooters
Tours. He served as assistant and
then head golf coach at
Northwest-Shoals Community College
from 2002 to 2007.
Originally from Muscle Shoals, Clark
is married to UNA Marketing
Professor Melissa Nesbitt Clark and
they have two children, Jackson and
Kate.
