LIONS ADD FOOTBALL SIGNEES
The University
of North Alabama has added seven transfers
to its football program, head coach Mark
Hudspeth announced Thursday. The seven
transfers, all from Mississippi Community
Colleges, are currently enrolled at UNA and
will participate in Spring drills with the
Lions in March. The group includes
quarterbacks Genario McNealy of NJCAA
National Champion Mississippi Gulf Coast
Community College and Baylor Dampeer of
Itawamba Community College; defensive backs
Darron Dampier of Copiah-Lincoln
Community
College and Travis Robinson and Ray Frierson
of East Central Community College,
linebacker Stanley Lykes of Northeast
Community College and wide receiver Antyon
Gray of Holmes Community College. Robinson
played as a freshman at Alabama in 2006 and
Lykes originally signed with Alabama-
Birmingham and was a part of the Blazers
program before transferring to Northeast.
North Alabama
went 10-2 in 2007 and advanced to the
quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II
playoffs.
The Lions are
riding a streak of three consecutive seasons
with 10 wins or more and have advanced to at
least the quarterfinals of the Division II
