FLORENCE
-- University of North Alabama offensive
line coach Alan Arrington has been promoted
to offensive coordinator, UNA head football
coach Mark Hudspeth announced Wednesday.
Arrington, who
is set to enter his third season in the UNA
program, replaces Kenny Edenfield as
offensive coordinator. Edenfield, who had
directed the Lions' offense for the last
five seasons, left UNA in December for a
position at his alma mater, Troy State.
Prior to coming
to UNA, Arrington served as offensive
coordinator for five seasons at Northwest
Mississippi Community College.
"Coach
Arrington has been an integral part of our
success the last two years and he knows our
offensive system very well," said Hudspeth.
"With a senior quarterback and the other
players we have coming back, we didn't want
to bring in someone to change our offense.
We want to keep doing what we're doing and
maintain the course of our offense."
UNA averaged
37.5 points and 408 total yards per game
last season.
"Coach
Arrington has been an offensive coordinator
before and he knows our offense. I'll also
work with him very closely and will have a
big part of the offense, ," Hudspeth added.
UNA opens its
Spring football drills on March 12.
