University of North Alabama senior
place-kicker Kenny Spencer of Glenwood,
Iowa has been named Gulf South
Conference Special Teams Player of the
Week for his efforts in UNA's 55-7 Gulf
South Conference win over West Georgia
Saturday.
Spencer scored 13 points and was
nine-for-nine on his kick attempts in
the game. He hit field goals of 20 and
26 yards and was seven-for-seven on PATs.
For the season, Spencer is UNA's leading
scorer with 36 points.
UNA has had a player selected as the GSC
Player of the Week following each of its
four wins this season.
Kick
returner Charles McClain was GSC Special
Teams Player of the Week after IMA's win
over Southern Arkansas. Linebacker
Michael Johnson was GSC Defensive Player
of the Week after helping lead the Lions
to a win over Carson-Newman. Quarterback
Harrison Beck was GSC Offensive Player
of the Week after UNA's road win at
Henderson State.
The Lions, 4-0 and ranked No. 3 in the
NCAA Division II, will play at Harding
on Sept. 26 with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
