UNA'S OGLESBY TO PLAY IN CACTUS BOWL
FLORENCE --
University of North Alabama senior defensive back Evan Oglesby of
Taccoa, Ga., has been invited to play in the annual Cactus Bowl NCAA
Division II All-Star Game in January in Kingsville, Texas.
Oglesby, a four-year starter on the defensive units at North
Alabama, will become the 16th Lion to play in the game - which
originated as the Snow Bowl in Fargo, N.D., in 1993. The game moved
to Kingsville in 1999 and changed its name to the Catus Bowl.
Oglesby made 45 tackles for UNA this season with 24 solo stops, 11
pass break-ups and one interception. He closed his career at
UNA as a two-time All-Gulf South Conference selection, with 224
total tackles, 13 pass interceptions and 38 break-ups. The
Cactus Bowl is scheduled for a 6:35 kickoff on January 7, 2005 and
will be televised by Fox Southwest.
