LIONS MOVE UP IN POLLS AFTER VICTORY

FLORENCE -- The University of North Alabama Lions remain prominent in the NCAA Division II football statistics released Tuesday. UNA, 2-0 overall, is ranked ninth nationally in rushing defense (55.0), 25th in scoring defense (14.0), 16th in total offense (468.5), 29th in passing offense (252.5), 15th in scoring offense (43.5), 30th in rushing offense (216.0) and 29th in pass efficiency (90.6).  Individually, UNA quarterback Vinnie Saylor is 22nd in passing efficiency (149.5), receivers Martin Huggins and DeMarcus Blount are tied for 32nd in scoring (9.0). Huggins is also ranked 26th in receiving yards (94.5), kicker Beau Tanner is 24th in field goals, Dusty Shack is tied for 20th in sacks (1.0), and Evan Oglesby is tied for 17th in passes defended (2.0).  UNA's opponent this weekend, 16th ranked Delta State, also appears in the statistics.  The Statesmen are tied with UNA at 22nd in turnover margin(1.0). DSU receiver Ellis Bebrow is ranked sesond in receiving yards with 296 yards and one touchdown. DSU quarterback Scott Eyster is ranked 35th in total offense with 86 plays for 488 yards. He is averaging 244 total yards per game.
