1993 - William "Brub" Hamilton

William "Brub" Hamilton
Brub Hamilton, a native of Athens, was an All-American football selection by the Associated Press in 1955 and ranked third in the nation in total offense as a senior. He was a four-year letterman from 1952-55 and still held the UNA records for the longest run from scrimmage (94 yards)  and the longest punt return (85 yards) at the time of his induction.

He accounted for 1,369 yards of offense in 1955 and also handled the punting duties, averaging better than 37 yards per kick. He was named to the 50th Anniversary UNA Football Team for 1949-98. Hamilton served as an assistant football coach at UNA under Durell Mock in 1970-71 and taught and coached for more than 30 years before retiring in 1992.

Hamilton received his B.S. degree  in physical education from UNA in 1957.
