(Women's Basketball 1979-80)

Wanda Beckham became the first female inductee into the UNA Hall of Fame. A native of Clifton, Tenn., she was a two-year starter for the Lady Lions basketball team and earned American Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AAIA W) All-American honors as a senior in 1980 after helping take UNA to a 22-10 record and the state championship.

A two-time All-State selection, Beckham set five single-game, three season and five career school records at UNA, averaging 19.5 points per game. She scored 1,033 career points and scored in double-figures in 24 consecutive games at one stretch. She was the team's top scorer in both 1979 and 1980 and was a key figure in helping establish a winning tradition in the UNA women's basketball program which had won just 16 games in its three seasons prior to Beckham's arrival.
