Roger Ralph was a football All-American for
the Lions in 1975 after finishing as the Gulf South Conference's leading receiver with 48
catches for 767 yards. The 767 yards in a single season set a school record and he was
named Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He caught 46 passes for 700
yards and seven touchdowns in 1974 to lead the team and added four TD catches in 1975. He
caught four touchdown passes in a game to set a school record and had 1,932 career
receiving yards for another record.
Ralph had 126 career catches and scored 14 touchdowns.
He was named to the 50th Anniversary UNA Football Team for 1949-98.He was selected as a
receiver on "The First Forty Years" Lion Football Team, and was also named to
the Team of the Decade for 1969-78. Named All-GSC in baseball in 1974 at second base,
Ralph was the only male athlete in UNA history, at the time of his induction, to be named
first-team All-GSC in two different sports.
He lettered three years in baseball from
1974-76 and graduated from UNA in 1976 with a B.S. degree in Accounting. A native of Arab,
