Ledbetter,   a native of Hartselle, Ala., was a standout on the Lion basketball teams from 1969-71 and still ranks as one of the school's all-time leading scorers.  Ledbetter scored 1,179 career points in three seasons, averaging 17.1 points over his  69-game career.  He led the Lions in scoring in 1970 and 1971, with 454 points in 1970 and 444 in 1971.

He led the team in rebounding twice as well, with 225 in 1969 and 295 in 1970. His 53.4 field goal percentage in 1969 also led the team.  For his career, he was 459-of-892 from the floor for 51.4 percent and was 261-of-358 from the free throw line for 72.9 percent. He also pulled 785 rebounds for an 11.4 average. His career high-scoring game was 40 points against Alabama A&M in 1970. He also had 31 points against Belmont in 1971.
