MAGNOLIA, Ark.,
– North Alabama shot just 35.8 percent from
the floor, including a 3-of-19 showing from
three-point range in the second half as
Southern Arkansas posted a 79-64 home win
Thursday evening in Gulf South Conference
men’s basketball action.
The Lions trailed 42-34 at intermission and
missed their first five shots of the second
half, going scoreless for the first 4:10 of
the period. SAU shot 50 percent from the
floor and hit 10-of-20 three-point shots.
The Muleriders, who lost a 94-70 decision to
UNA early in the season, never trailed in
the rematch, leading by as many as 18 points
in the second half.
Six players reached double figures in
scoring for SAU (5-5). Quinn Beckwith led
the Lions with 17 points on the night.
Milton Nance added
15 points for UNA, which falls to 6-7 on the
season.
The Lions will return home on Saturday, Dec.
30, to face Northern Kentucky. Tip-off time
is set for 3 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
