LIVINGSTON
– West Alabama’s Stan Gill scored 31 points
to lead the Tigers to a 79-69 home victory
over North Alabama Monday evening in Gulf
South Conference men’s basketball action.
UNA, which trailed 40-31 at the half,
suffered 17 turnovers and went just 4-of-20
from three-point range. The Tigers, however,
were unable to put the game away until the
final minute. A three-pointer by Joemal
Campbell pulled the Lions to within five
points at 74-69 with 23 seconds remaining.
UWA scored the final five points to secure
the win.
Milton Nance scored 15 points to lead UNA.
Thomas Morris added 14 points for the Lions,
who fall to 8-9 on the year with a 1-1 mark
in GSC play. The Tigers improve to
6-9, 1-1.
The Lions will return home for another GSC
showdown on Saturday. UNA is slated to take
on Valdosta State at 3 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
