SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- University of North Alabama senior
Esmir Guzonjic scored 11 points and pulled seven rebounds recently
in the 2nd annual National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)
All- Star Game. Guzonjic, a 6-foor-10 senior from Sarajevo, Bosnia,
was one of 10 players selected for the East squad in the game that
is now part of the Elite Eight Tournament each March.
Guzonjic was
one of five East players to score in double-figures but the team
still came out on the short end of a 97-92 score. Guzonjic scored 11
points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and 1-of-2 shooting from
the line.
He also pulled
seven rebounds and had two steals in 18 minutes of play. The only
other Gulf South Conference player invited was Alabama-Huntsville's
Jason Smith, who had eight points for the East. |
