BIRMINGHAM
– University of North Alabama guard Milton
Nance has been named the Gulf South
Conference East Division Player of the Week.
League officials announced late Wednesday
that the 5-11 senior received the honor for
the second time this season.
Nance led UNA to a 92-88 road victory
against in-state rival Alabama-Huntsville
last Saturday. He played all 40 minutes,
scoring a game-high 35 points while shooting
60.0 percent from the field.
The Killen, Ala., native also shot 41.7
percent from three-point range and was
6-for-8 from the foul line. The win was the
Lions’ third in four games and moved North
Alabama past UAH and into a tie for second
in the East Division with a 4-2 league mark.
Nance also won the conference award on Dec.
20. Teammate Quinn Beckwith took home the
honor on Dec. 6, giving the Lions three
awards this season.
