Valdosta, Ga. - A Casey Holt jumper with 13 seconds left
forced overtime but North Alabama was outscored 13-7 in the extra
period as the Lions dropped a Gulf South Conference battle at
Valdosta State, 92-86.
UNA led 36-35
at the half but the Blazers came out firing in the second half and
built an 11-point lead just five minutes into the second half. UNA
slowly cut away at the lead and Holt's jumper forced overtime. The
Lions were just three-of-10 in the overtime from the floor and VSU
took the win.
With the loss,
UNA falls to 13-6 overall and 1-1 in the Gulf South Conference.
Valdosta State is now 9-6 and 1-0. UNA had five players in
double-figures, led by Thomas Fraise with 20 points. Kenny Johnson
added 15, Quinn Beckwith 13, and Andrew Chesney and Holt 12 each.
Ray Cummings led Valdosta State with 22.
Valdosta State
dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Lions 61-37.

Montevallo Saturday at home at 3 p.m.
