ORLANDO, Fla.
-- Assumption held a slim two-point margin
at the half but slowly pulled away in the
second half to pull down an 85-78 win over
North Alabama in the second day of the
Disney Classic.
Assumption
(2-0) led 34-32 at intermission but managed
to push its lead to double-digits in the
second half before settling for the
seven-point win. North Alabama made 14
three-point baskets in the game but shot
just 40 percent from the floor in the loss
and as out-rebounded by Assumption 46 to 25.
Casey Holt led
three Lions in double-figures with 18. Kenny
Johnson had 15 and Quinn Beckwith 14.
Assumption had
five players in double-digits, led by Corey
Diethorn with 19. Mike Foti had 17, Greg
Twomey 14 and Mitch Bajema and Courtland
Bluford 10 each.
The Lions had
just 12 turnovers to 18 for Assumption.
