UNA WINS SEVENTH STRAIGHT GAME WITH 77-63 VICTORY
MAGNOLIA, Ark. — The North
Alabama men’s basketball team ran its winning streak to seven games
Monday night after pulling away in the second half for a 77-63
victory over Southern Arkansas.
In the second
meeting between the two schools in a week, Thomas Fraise scored 19
points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Lions (7-2) to their
first road win of the season.
Southern
Arkansas scored 14 straight points run to go ahead 14-5, but the
Lions then began to chip away at the lead, pulling to within one at
halftime. UNA then took control early in the second half and quickly
built a double-digit advantage.
The Lions held
a 49-25 rebounding advantage over the SAU and also had a good night
at the free throw line, converting 21-of-25 attempts.
UNA will be in
action again tonight when the Lions play at Harding (3-4).
Tip-off is set
for 7:30 p.m. at Rhodes Field House on the Searcy, Ark., campus.
