– Officials with the Gulf South
Conference have named North Alabama guard
Casey Holt as the East Division’s Player of
the Week. The senior from Culleoka, Tenn.,
earns his first-ever conference award,
leading UNA to a pair of in-region wins as
host of the Marriott Shoals Classic.
Holt averaged
22 points, eight rebounds and 3.5 assists as
the Lions knocked off Nova Southeastern and
Miles at Flowers Hall. He also shot 51.7
percent from the floor and 83.3 from the
charity stripe in 37.5 minutes of action.
Holt poured in
21 points during the 78-68 win over Nova,
them followed with a game-high 23 points and
fives assists in an 87-82 triumph over
in-state and SIAC foe Miles. He was named
MVP of the Classic.
