-- After helping lead the University
of North Alabama men's basketball team to a
berth in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight
and a 27-9 record, UNA junior guard Kenny
Johnson has been rewarded for his work off
the court as well with his selection to the
Academic All-Gulf South Conference team.
Johnson,
Plaquemine, La., native, started all 36
games for UNA this season and averaged 13.5
points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He ranked
24th nationally in Division II in assists
and was 29th in the nation for best
assist-to-turnover ratio.
In the
classroom, Johnson has maintained a 3.46
cumulative grade point average iN Computer
Information Systems. Johnson was also an
Academic All-GSC pick in 2006-07.
