– For the third time this season, and second
time in the last three weeks, Officials with
the Gulf South Conference have named North
Alabama guard Milton Nance as the GSC East
Division Player of the Week. The award gives
the Lions their third consecutive performer
of the week and a league-high fifth of the
year.
Nance began the week scoring 31 points in 28
minutes in a 109-85 defeat of West Alabama,
dishing out six assists and pulling down
five rebounds. The senior also shot 50
percent from both the field and three-point
range and knocked down 9-of-11 free throws.
The Killen, Ala. native played all 40
minutes against No. 22 Montevallo, scoring
23 points and knocking down five triples as
UNA nearly pulled off the upset of the
Falcons, losing 98-95 in the closing
seconds. The guard also had four assists and
four boards, one steal and finished the week
with 54 points in 68 minutes of play.
