 BASKETBALL LIONS FINISH FOURTH NATIONALLY IN SCORING

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.
-- After posting a 27-9 record in 2007-08 that included a berth in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight, the University of North Alabama men's basketball team also took a prominent position in the final NCAA statistics released Tuesday.

UNA's 87.0 scoring average per game ranked fourth best in the nation and the Lions' assist-to-turnover ratio was 17th best in the country at 1.24. UNA was ranked 24th in three-point field goals made per game (8.9), 32nd in average scoring margin (9.3) and 34th in fewest turnovers per game (13.4).

Individually, UNA junior guard Kenny Johnson of Plaquemine, La., was 24th in assists per game (5.4) and 26th in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.29). Senior forward Casey Holt of Culleoka, Tenn., ws 51st in rebounding (8.6), 55th in field goal percentage (54.3) and 72nd in scoring (17.8).
