– Officials with the Gulf
South Conference have named North Alabama’s
Rory Miller as the Gulf South Conference
East Division Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Miller, a 6-7 junior from Jesup, Ga., led
the Lions to a 2-0 showing on the week by
averaging 31 points and eight rebounds per
contest. He also shot 63.9 percent from the
field and 60 percent from three-point range.
Last Wednesday, Miller played all 40 minutes
of an 81-78 road GSC triumph over West
Florida, leading all scorers with 30 points
and grabbing eight rebounds. He followed on
Saturday with an impressive effort in a
116-78 home win over Concordia-Selma,
scoring 32 points and adding eight rebounds
in just 26 minutes of action.
Miller is the
second UNA player to claim the honor this
season. Jared Strode took home the award on
Nov. 18 and Dec. 9.
