Wright
Assistant Coach
Cord Wright is entering his fifth season as a
member of the University of North Alabama coaching staff and his
third year as the Lions’ assistant coach.
Wright, who served two seasons as the team’s
graduate assistant coach from 2003-05, graduated from Limestone
College in 2002 with a B.S. degree in physical education and a minor
in biology. He was promoted to the team’s full-time assistant
position following the resignation of former assistant coach Kelly
Newton.
Last year, Wright helped guided the Lions to
a 15-14 record and a berth in the Gulf South Conference tournament,
which included a victory over second-seeded Christian Brothers in
Southaven, Miss.
During the 2005-06 season, Wright helped the
Lions to an 18-11 record that included the school’s first trip to
the NCAA tournament in 10 years. The Lions had a 14-14 record the
previous season and also advanced to the conference tourney. The
Lions have advanced to the GSC tournament all four years Wright has
been on the coaching staff.
As a player at Limestone College in Gaffney,
S.C., he was an all-conference selection in 2000 and was academic
all-conference in 2001. He led the team in scoring and rebounding
in his last two years.
Wright began his coaching career as
assistant coach at Spartanburg Methodist College. He also served as
a student assistant coach at Limestone College for the 2001-2002
season. His duties for the Saints included running skill development
sessions, weight training sessions, recruiting and creating scouting
reports.
Wright has also worked on staff for various
basketball camps around the country including at Louisiana State
University, the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia and
the University of Oklahoma. Wright also directed his own
basketball camp known as “Yours in Hoops”.

Goran Secerovic
Graduate Assistant Coach
Goran Secerovic is entering his third season on the
North Alabama basketball coaching staff.
The
Bosnian native played professionally in his home country
for three years following his graduation from Rockford
College in 2000. He was named team Most Valuable Player
as a senior and earned a B.S. degree in computer
science.
At
UNA his primary responsibilities has been aiding in the
recruiting process as well as game preparations. He also
works with the team post players. |
