POOR SHOOTING DOOMS LIONS (BOX
SCORE)
FLORENCE --
Playing at home for the first time in five games, the University of
North Alabama men's basketball team couldn't find the shooting touch
in Flowers Hall Saturday as poor shooting doomed the Lions in a
75-69 loss to Ouachita Baptist. After getting three quick
baskets by Javier Palacios, UNA didn't get another field goal for 14
minutes and ended the first half just 7-of-31 from the floor. OBU
led 34-20 at the half. UNA rallied in the second half and
closed the Tigers lead to four twice in the final three minutes but
couldn't get any closer. The Lions finished the game at 33
percent shooting, making just 22 of 65 shots from the floor.
Reprobatus Bibbs led UNA with 24 points, while Palacios had 21
points and A.J. Gordon 15. Travis Williams had 19 points for
Ouachita Baptist, followed by David Mercer with 18 and Kevin White
14. UNA is now 7-2 overall and drop to 4-1 on its
home floor. Ouachita Baptist is now 5-2. |
