LIONS GET BACK ON WINNING TRACK

– Javier Palacios scored a game-high 27 points, leading four Lions
in double figures as UNA picked up its first Gulf South Conference
victory with a 93-86 road win over West Alabama Monday night.
The victory ends a five-game losing streak
for the Lions and keeps the team above the .500 mark with an 8-6
overall record. It also puts UNA in the win column in the GSC East
Division standings.
A.J. Gordon also turned in a strong
performance with 20 points on the night while Pete Lowe and Pervis
Key added 16 and 15 points respectively.
The Lions shot 54.5 percent from the floor
and hit 7-of-12 three-point baskets to maintain the lead throughout
the contest.
UNA will return to Flowers Hall Jan. 15th to
host Valdosta State in another key conference showdown. Tip-off is
set to follow the women’s game, which begins at 3 p.m.
