NORTH ALABAMA STAYS IN GSC RACE WITH WIN (BOX SCORE)

FLORENCE -- Reprobatus Bibbs scored 25 points and added five assists to help lead North Alabama to a key Gulf South Conference win over West Alabama at Flowers Hall, 89-75.  UNA and West Alabama entered the game tied for fifth in the GSC East Division, with the top five teams from each side advancing to the conference tournament in Tupelo. The win also gives UNA a sweep over the Tigers this season.  The Lions are now 12-11 overall and 4-6 in the GSC. West Alabama falls to 11-11 and 3-7.  UNA broke open a tight first half with an 11-1 run over the final three minutes of the period. In the second half, clutch scoring by Casey Holt and Pervis Key, along with the play of Bibbs, sparked UNA. The Lions outscored UWA 45-40 over the final 20 minutes.  Key finished with 18 points, while Holt added 13 and Jerrell Vinson 10. Ty Mathis led UWA with 22, Jared Hembree added 12 and Joseph Baker and Carlos Cole 11 each.  UNA hosts Montevallo Monday at 8 p.m.
