NORTH ALABAMA DEFEATS NOVA SOUTHEASTERN IN OPENER (BOX
SCORE)
FLORENCE -- North Alabama built
an 11-point halftime lead and eased to a 72-64 win over Nova
Southeastern in the Lions season-opener at Flowers Hall. UNA
led 40-29 at intermission and held on for the win, despite being
outscored 72-64 in the second half. There was a total of 54 fouls
called in the game and there were a combined 47 turnovers.
Javier Palacios led UNA with 15 points and Luke Copeland added 11.
All 11 Lion players that entered the game scored. Tommy Greer led
the Knights with 15 points and Calvin Jenkins added 13. UNA was
outrebounded 44-36. The Lions made 26 of 58 shots from the
floor (44.8 percent) but hit just 15 of 31 free throw attempts.
UNA hosts Stillman Tuesday at 6 p.m. |
