LIONS DOWN SECOND RANKED TEAM IN THREE DAYS (BOX
SCORE)

Reprobatus Bibbs drove the length of the floor and hit a 14-foot
jumper at the buzzer to give North Alabama its second win over
nationally ranked team in three days as the Lions downed Kentucky
Wesleyan 64-62 at Flowers Hall.
The win over the 14th ranked Panthers ups UNA's record to 4-0
overall. The Lions knocked off No. 1 ranked Southern Indiana on
Saturday. UNA led 62-60 in the closing seconds before
Kentucky Wesleyan forced a turnover and got a game-tying basket from
David Byrd with seven seconds left. After a time-out, UNA inbounded
the ball to Bibbs who drove for the winning shot.
UNA trailed 36-35 at the half after shooting just 41 percent in the
opening 20 minutes to 51 percent for the Panthers. The Lions took
the lead at the 16:08 mark at 45-44 on a basket by Luke Copeland and
held the lead until the nine minute mark. The Panthers regained the
lead and pushed it to a four-point margin with 6:35 left before UNA
rallied. UNA tied the game at 60-60 with 3:57 to play and a putback
by Jerrell Vinson made it 62-60 with 3:06 left.
A.J. Gordon led UNA with 16 points, Pervis Key had 13 and Bibbs 12.
Frank Phifer led KWC with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Byrd finished
with 11 points and Franklyn Ferguson had seven points and 10
rebounds. UNA held a 41-34 rebounding edge led by Bibbs with seven.
