UNA MEN RANKED 15TH IN
LATEST NABC POLL
KANSAS CITY, Mo., – The University of North Alabama men’s
basketball team remained in the Top 25 of the North American
Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Division II Coaches Poll this
week, falling four spots to No. 15 in the rankings. The Lions (6-2)
completed a 1-1 week after dropping a 51-46 road decision to
Christian Brothers before returning home to knock off Campbellsville
76-70 at Flowers Hall.
Making the jump ahead of UNA was fellow Gulf South Conference member
Arkansas-Monticello. The Boll Weevils improved to 8-0 on the season
and made the biggest jump in the poll, moving up 10 spots from 23rd
to 13th to represent the GSC’s highest-ranked team. The GSC added
its third team to the rankings when Valdosta State entered the poll
at No. 24. The Blazers are 8-1 on the season.
The top two teams remain the same for the third straight week with
Findlay (5-0) and South Carolina-Aiken (4-
0) sitting atop the rankings. A loss by Central Oklahoma allowed
Augusta State to move up to third, while Southwest Baptist (Mo.) and
Gannon (Pa.) round out the top five.
