LIONS HAVE SECOND MEET OF THE SEASON IN
HUNTSVILLE
HUNTSVILLE
– The University of North Alabama cross
country teams turned in a pair of top 10
performances Saturday at the Fleet Feet
Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial with the men’s
team finishing ninth and the UNA women
coming in fifth.
Host UAH won
the event at Sharon Johnston Park, finishing
first in both the men’s and women’s races.
Derick Hallmak
was the top runner for the Lion men’s team.
The freshman from Hatton was 30th in the 8K
race with a time of 28:56. Zac Piper also
finished under the 30-minute mark with a
time of 29:23 to place 41st.
The UNA women
were also led by a freshman as Decherd,
Tenn., native Hannah Mook finished 13th with
a time of 20:34. Jessica Moran was close
behind at 17th with a time of 20:44 as the
team finished 5th in the 16-squad event.
Both teams will
return to action next weekend in Tuscaloosa.
The Lions will compete in the Crimson
Classic, hosted by the University of
Alabama.
