UNA Fals 4-0 to Harding

Harding scored three goals in the first 14
minutes of the game and North Alabama could
never recover as the Lions came out on the
short end of a 4-0 score to the Lady Bisons
Friday night at North Florence Park.
Just 36 seconds into the game, Harding's
Kellie DeAtley attempted a cross that
bounced off the left inside post and the top
post before being kicked away. DeAtley was
awarded a goal on the kick, putting Harding
on top 1-0. At the 9:04 mark Kendyl Washburn
completed a run down the left side by taking
a pass from Chelsea Smith and putting it
past UNA keeper Mally Cash for a 2-0
advantage. In the 14th minute Minnie Guzman
scored off an assist from Lyndsey Clissold,
and the Lady Bisons got their last goal of
the half at the 35:03 mark as Tess Bragg
scored. Her shot was the last in a series of
shots and deflections in close range in
front of the goal. North Alabama held
Harding scoreless over the final 55 minutes
but could never gain any offensive momentum
of its own. UNA finished with 15 shots, led
by Alsion Woodman with eight. Harding's
Chelse Hornbeck had eight saves and UNA's
Cash finished with five saves. The Lions,
now 4-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the Gulf South
Conference, plays at Ouachita Baptist
Sunday.
Harding improved to 5-3-3 overall and 4-1 in
league play.
