UNA Fals 4-0 to Harding

FLORENCE -- Harding scored three goals in the first 14 minutes of the game and North Alabama could never recover as the Lions came out on the short end of a 4-0 score to the Lady Bisons Friday night at North Florence Park.  Just 36 seconds into the game, Harding's Kellie DeAtley attempted a cross that bounced off the left inside post and the top post before being kicked away. DeAtley was awarded a goal on the kick, putting Harding on top 1-0. At the 9:04 mark Kendyl Washburn completed a run down the left side by taking a pass from Chelsea Smith and putting it past UNA keeper Mally Cash for a 2-0 advantage. In the 14th minute Minnie Guzman scored off an assist from Lyndsey Clissold, and the Lady Bisons got their last goal of the half at the 35:03 mark as Tess Bragg scored. Her shot was the last in a series of shots and deflections in close range in front of the goal. North Alabama held Harding scoreless over the final 55 minutes but could never gain any offensive momentum of its own. UNA finished with 15 shots, led by Alsion Woodman with eight. Harding's Chelse Hornbeck had eight saves and UNA's Cash finished with five saves. The Lions, now 4-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the Gulf South Conference, plays at Ouachita Baptist Sunday.
