ROME, Ga.
-- A second half goal by senior Rhiannon
Harrison earned the University of North
Alabama women's soccer team a 1-1 tie with
Shorter College Wednesday.
The tie snapped a two-game losing skid for
UNA but the Lions' continued to struggle
offensively.
The Lions have scored just four goals in
their last nine contests and have dropped to
4-8-2 overall after a 3-0-1 start. "We
had twice as many shots as they had but we
just couldn't finish," said UNA Coach Graham
Winkworth. "We played hard and create a lot
of opportunities but couldn't get the ball
in the net." Freshman Paige Hess had
the assist on Harrison's goal. It was the
first assist of the season for Hess, while
it was the second goal for Harrison this
season and the 30th of her career.
UNA plays at Montevallo Sunday before
closing out the season with three straight
home games against Lambuth, West Florida and
Union.
