CLEVELAND, Miss.
-- After a 3-0-1 start, the University of
North Alabama women's soccer team suffered
its fourth straight loss Sunday as the Lions
were shutout in a 1-0 loss at Delta State.
UNA, now 3-4-1 overall, are now 0-2 in Gulf
South Conference play. Delta State improved
to 4-7 and 1-1.
Delta State's Kortney Harris scored the
game's only goal just 12:01 into the contest
off an assist from Bridget Duke.
UNA outshot the Lady Statesmen 16-6 and the
Lions had seven shots on goal but all were
defended by DSU's Samantha Selby.
Rhiannon Harrison led UNA's efforts with
four shots and three shots on goal. UNA
keeper Mally Cash had three saves.
North Alabama has played seven of its first
eight matches on the road but will return
home for the first time since Sept. 8 when
the Lions host Christian Brothers Wednesday
at North Florence Park at 6 p.m.
