FLORENCE
-- University of North Alabama freshman
midfielder Kelli Coffman of Warrensburg,
Mo., has been named the Gulf South
Conference Women's Soccer Defender of the
Week.
Coffman, in her
first game at UNA, directed a Lion defense
that limited Brewton-Parker to just two
shots in an 8-0 North Alabama victory
Saturday.
With Coffman
leading the way, the UNA defense pushed
upfield the entire match and kept the ball
almost exclusively on the offensive end. The
Lions outshot the Barrons 35-2 and only one
Brewton-Parker shot was on-goal.
Coffman also
scored a goal on a header off a corner kick
in UNA's win. (Pictured at right)
UNA plays
Eckerd in Mobile on Friday.
