FLORENCE
-- A goal just 28 seconds into the
game would be all the offense that Ouachita
Baptist would need Sunday as the Tigers
shutout North Alabama in women's soccer and
went on to a 2-0 win at North Florence Park.
The game had
just gotten underway when Lauren Pierce got
a ball inside to Kendall Cooper who put it
in the top right corner of the net. That
would remain the only score of the game
until the Tigers were able to net another
one at the 77:49 mark by Joyce Hanson.
The Lions were
shutout for the third straight time in Gulf
South Conference play and fall to 6-8-1
overall and 1-4-1 in the GSC. Ouachita
Baptist is now 11-2-2 and 5-1.
UNA was outshot
in the game 19-9. Carly Rhodes had seven
saves for the Lions and Taylor Culberson had
four saves for OBU.
