MONTGOMERY, Ala.
-- The University of North Alabama women's
soccer team scored seven goals and rolled to
a 7-1 win over Alabama State Tuesday. The
win improves UNA's record to 7-8-1 overall
and it was the most goals the Lions have
scored since netting eight in their season
opener on August 25 against Brewton Parker.
Sophomore
Tassia Augusto scored her 15th goal of the
season to tie the UNA single season record.
Sophomore
Meghan Bailey of Madison and freshman Callie
Pederson of Sarasota, Fla., scored two goals
each and freshman Natalie Sherk of Sarasota
and sophomore Catherine Fuller of Theodore,
Ala., had one goal each. Sherk now has seven
goals for the season. Fuller, Pederson and
Bailey scored for the first time this
season.
UNA returns to
Gulf South Conference action Friday when the
Lions play ar West Florida at 5:00 p.m. The
Lions will then close out their regular
season with three straight home games
against Montevallo, Birmingham- Southern and
Austin Peay.
